700 state workers in Aurora join tree-planting activity

BALER, Aurora-Around 700 state workers from national government agencies and local government units in Aurora took part Friday in a tree-planting activity that is in line with the 114th anniversary of Philippine Civil Service.

This year’s celebration carries the theme “Tapat na Serbisyo Alay Ko, Dahil Lingkod Bayani Ako.”

“Participants braved the rains brought by the combined forces of Tropical Storm Mario and the southwest monsoon as they planted narra seedlings in Sitio Diguisit in Barangay Zabali in Baler,” Governor Gerardo Noveras said.

“The area were we planted was severely damaged during the forest fire last August 13-15 this year,” Noveras added. (Jojo S. Libranda)
